Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) can be localized or generalized. When excessive sweating is localized (e.g. palms, soles, face, underarms, and scalp) it is referred to as primary or focal and when it involves the body as a whole it is referred to as generalized and is often the result of an underlying condition.

Focal sweating (Palms, soles, or underarms) can be treated with prescription strength antiperspirants, a nonsurgical approach called iontophoresis or with Botox injections.
